What's the Buzz? 4/27/06

So Rockies pitcher Byung-Hyun Kim looks like Sunday's starter for Colorado if he is healthy. If you are using him, then please allow me to send you a tapestry to decorate the basement your fantasy team is living in.
Look for Victor Diaz to join the Mets lineup this weekend if the team has to put OF Carlos Beltran on the DL for his hamstring injury.
Aubrey Huff could start batting practice this weekend and Rocco Baldelli is in his second rehab game today. The Rays are really going to need these guys back soon. Losing Jorge Cantu makes it even more important.
Owners of Dodgers backstop Dionner Navarro better take heed. The team is not happy with his slow start and are possibly looking to call up prospect Russell Martin soon.
Looks like the platoon in the Twins' right field has come to a close as Lew Ford has started the last 5 games over Michael Cuddyer. This really shouldn't come as much of a surprise as the Twins have always been leary about giving Cuddyer a full time job.
Rumors out of Arizona have Tony Clark willing to waive his no trade clause if it will help the team. The Cubs are supposedly interested with Derrek Lee out. This would be outstanding news for Conor Jackson owners. This would be exactly what he needs to break out this season.
The Mets received some good news today when they learned that pitcher Brian Bannister only had a grade 1 strain of the hamstring. It is the mildest kind so he will probably avoid the DL; maybe miss just one start.
Let the Josh Beckett meltdown begin...
Texas manager Buck Showalter has announced that Francisco Cordero will "receive a break from closing." This just in...Texas Rangers fans will "receive a break from late inning anxiety attacks." Ladies and gentlemen...Akinori Otsuka.
And finally It was announced that Devil Rays prospect Delmon Young has been suspended indefinitely for flipping his bat and hitting the umpire. Indefinitely is going to be quite a long time. You need a pretty deep bench to warrant keeping him on your roster this season.

Catch you next time...
