What's the Buzz? 4/14/06

So we're going to run through real quick here....long night and there wasn't anything too life changing going on today...

The Dodgers removed Brad Penny after a solid outing where he allowed one run and 2 hits in 6 innings tonight. It might be a little elbow stiffness, but I wouldn't worry about it. Penny is going to be a solid choice all season long.
Don't be fooled by Rangers' pitcher Kevin Millwood's performance tonight. While he will have the occassional flashes of "brilliance" (and I use that term verrrrrrry loosely), he will not be a reliable starter for you this season. The Texas heat will get him eventually.
Phillies 2B Chase Utley had another 2 HR game today....need I say more? He's putting it all together and will be the top rated 2B in the league by the end of the season.
Anyone else see Twins starter, Scott Baker make the Yankees look silly tonight?
Listen...I know he used steroids...everyone knows he used steroids...does Barry Bonds really need an excuse to explain his ridiculously slow start? I wouldn't be at my top form if idiots in the stands were throwing syringes at me either...
Pirates 1B Sean Casey was pulled from today's game with back issues. Craig Wilson will take his place while he is out.
The Marlins did it again tonight with a win for pitcher Dontrelle Willis...I have an article coming out tomorrow regarding the state of the Marlins this year. They are not as bad as people think, and if given the chance, they could play a serious spoiler role this year.
Watch your lineups this week as the Meat Hook, Dmitri Young will go on the DL soon with a strained right quad. If Chris Shelton plays the same, we won't miss the big afro for a long while...
In his only hit tonight, Rays' 2B Jorge Cantu had a 3 run RBI double. It was a lucky break as he should've gone down on strikes earlier. Injury or not, I'm still not a fan.

Scary as it seems, that's all I have for you right now...

Catch you next time...
