What's the Buzz? 4/12/06

Holy crap!! What's up with Daniel Cabrera? Touted as a breakout candidate for this year, he gets shellacked in his first outing. Now today he strikes out 10 but walks 9 in 5 innings? This is a bit nerve-wracking. He should go to the bench until he can string together a few solid starts...especially since he has the Yankees and Angels coming up next.
In his season debut, David Wells got rocked for 7 runs in 4+ innings today. The only thing this guy can do right is berate Bud Selig. Adios fatty!
Blue Jays OF Alexis Rios hit his 3rd HR of the season today. Trade him now!!! Get value while you can. He probably won't hit another until June.
Is it just me or is Dustan Mohr every fantasy owners' nightmare? Every year it's the same thing....he just hangs around enough to force a platoon situation somewhere but sucks enough to never get a full time job. He's now screwing Adam Stern out of regular at bats in Boston while Coco Crisp is out.
No one got beaned and no fights in the Mets/Nationals game tonight...good job guys...just play the game.
The Rangers lose 2B Ian Kinsler to a dislocated thumb for a few weeks. D'Angelo Jimenez and Mark DeRosa will platoon in the meantime. DeRosa gets the edge here for now but Jimenez, if he can whiff less than say, Brad Wilkerson, could be intriguing in Texas. Keep your eyes on it.
Uh oh...Ken Griffey, Jr. left tonight's game with knee stiffness.....here we go....tread lightly....this could either be nothing or it could suck big time....nothing in the middle. It's a shame that this will be the kick Jerry Narron needs to get Ryan Freel a starting job.
The Devil Rays throw 3B Aubrey Huff on the DL today....can you think of an uglier platoon than Russell Branyan and Ty Wiggington to replace him?
And lastly, major props to Jim Thome. This guy's an animal!!!!! DHing all year on his way to mashing 40+ for the White Sox. Wooo hooo!!!
