What's the Buzz? 4/10/06

A shame to have to start this off with another injury after the earlier report, but apparently Tampa Bay's Mark Hendrickson is going on the DL with left shoulder tightness. This just after pitching a complete game shutout in his season debut.
Also for the Rays, 2B Jorge Cantu returned to action tonight as a pinch hitter. He went 0-2 with a strikeout and a line out (HA HA!!!). He should return to the starting lineup tomorrow.
The Orioles outfield is geting even more crowded as Dave Newhan has played himself into an equal platoon with Corey Patterson and Luis Matos. The one I think that will come out ahead is Matos, although I wouldn't run out to pick him up just yet. This one is going to take some time to sort out.
Braves' 3B Chipper Jones will be put on the DL tomorrow. Get ready to grab Wilson Betemit!
And finally, kudos to Chicago 1B Paul Konerko....he became the first guy in a White Sox uniform not named Jim Thome to hit a HR this season. Yeesh! Slow start for the defending champs.

More "opening days" tomorrow, but a full slate of games Wednesday, so we'll see a little more action then.
