Well...third base actually...

After a second half of .325 hitting with 11 HR, 40 RBI and 7 stolen bases, Royals 3B Mark Teahen will undergo season ending shoulder surgery. He's had a little bit of a chronic problem in his right shoulder -- he missed some time back in the first half of the season with it -- and the club decided it was best to shut him down now, open it up and fix the problem. Obviously it's the smart thing to do, baseball wise, but fantasy owners are bumming right now.

If you can still make pickups, it looks like Jeff Keppinger and Esteban German will see most of the time at third. We'll probably see more of Keppinger though.

For those still hanging onto the thread of hope that the club will bring up prized prospect Alex Gordon, cut the string. If it wasn't happening when rosters expanded, it's not happening now.
