Morning Buzz Update

Just a couple of quick notes from last night, as I took and early leave...

Reports out of Boston say that David Ortiz was not out of the lineup last night due to a stomach virus, but due to a recurrence of the irregular heartbeat from which he suffered last week. He is headed back to Boston and will undergo tests to see what is going on. Fantasy owners of Ortiz should bench him immediately if you make daily roster moves. I don't even want to speculate, so let's just say he's out until further notice.

Congratulations to Felix Hernandez for tossing his first career shutout last night against the Angels. His strikeouts were low, only four, but it was a great performance in what has been a sea of mediocrity for the ultra-hyped pitcher. He was supposed to be a lights out guy who was the next big thing, but sits right now with a sub-.500 record (11-12) and a 4.54 ERA. Probably not worth what you paid for him on draft day.
